Elizabeth Byrd and Douglas Webster
Beyond sharing a love for music, nature and dogs, Liz Byrd and Doug Webster share homes in Portland, Oregon and South Park, Colorado, ten thousand feet up in the Colorado Rockies. Liz envisioned Carousel Concerts as a blended concert series hosted in a small theater in Boca Raton, Florida. The first season included chamber music, a solo pianist, a virtuoso 'finger-style' guitarist, an improvisatory World Music ensemble and theater music played by the assembled group of artists.
Now living in Portland, Oregon, Liz and Doug have introduced Carousel Concerts to a new audience, bringing their favorite friends and colleagues to join them at The Historic Old Church in downtown Portland.
THIS SEASON, in Portland, Oregon, we are presenting evenings of theater music, an afternoon of virtuoso ukulele playing and a Holiday program, A CAROUSEL CHRISTMAS, that pays homage to the televised programs hosted by Perry Como and Andy Williams. For Spring, 2015, we are eager to bring our favorite performers to Portland for a Light Classical afternoon titled, "FROM HOLLYWOOD TO BROADWAY". And later, two programs of classical fare, "SCHUBERT AND SHERBET" and "IT"S ONLY A PAPER MOON".
